In the higher grades of the secondary school, we had psychology classes conducted by a young teacher, two-metre tall. He constantly provoked us and we thought that he was insulting us, but we learned the most from him: he showed us how to find a hidden object without seeing it. He held in his hands two bicycle spokes, formed in the shape of a capital letter L. He held one spoke in one hand and the other one in the other hand. He put them horizontally and went around the class. He determined on the basis of their trembling who of us had a ball, a slingshot, a knife and the like. He was highly skilled and he almost always discovered the hidden object. When searching for prohibited items, he showed me that I had a slingshot in my right pocket. But I had it tied up under my knee. Although he was right, I did not admit it, for the others not to find out that I was hiding it from the teacher, since such items were prohibited. He searched in my right pocket, but did not find the slingshot. He swung his head and left, as this was failure for him: he did not understand that I was the true reason for his failure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My case motivated the teacher to explain to us that the instrument may also be wrong, but that it was a tool that had been used since the ancient times to search for lost objects, underground cavities, clogged channels, buried cables, groundwater, ores and so on. Such measurements are used in places where other instruments are of no help. As an example, the teacher described an example from America where they searched for underground cables for which no documentation existed, the search for ores and the like. He warned us again that these measurement devices must be mastered well, as they can be wrong, especially when the user has not trained sufficiently. He also said something that I was not able to understand at the time: that the person measuring must be in the psycho-physical state required for that. He added that there were several such devices for searching for different objects. He was especially fond of an object hanging on a cord. And then he continued with the psychology class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After school, some explorers, some seekers of lost objects went to search for bicycle spokes in several workshops, but could not find any. The problem was solved by a school friend, bringing wires from her father and thus enabling us to make L-antennas. This instrument was sensitive and reacted well to our questions. The only trouble was that we did not know what to measure; we therefore stopped researching soon and forgot all about it. At the end of the secondary school, an older friend offered me the book \u201cRadiesthesia\u201d which described almost all such instruments.
