For any member of the human race, and particularly for any therapist, spiritual growth is very important. An individual cannot do the therapeutic work if he or she has not achieved a certain level of spirituality, i.e. if he or she has not progressed enough. Individual methods, transformation and treatment will otherwise be unsuccessful. I am frequently asked why any person and therapist must progress at the spiritual level when everything is already written down in every human being and we have everything available: where is then the initiative for spiritual growth? Growth is necessary for a simple reason: human body consists of the conscious (visible and tangible) physical body, and of the unconscious (invisible and intangible) spiritual, energy body. The physical body is under the autocratic control of our ego or, better said, our mind. Since birth, we have collected information about the external world through communication, education and experience. All that we have absorbed, understood and grasped, and all that we have learned becomes the mirror of ourselves. People behave exclusively according to and on the basis of all this knowledge, while our acts are the acts of our convictions that we have gathered through our lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the background of the physical body, there is the unconscious spiritual body, gradually unjustifiably pushed to the background through the evolution of the human kind. The spiritual body is part of the creation and is directly connected with the natural laws. This body holds our truth. This body is often called the inner self or, according to the Christian principles and designation, guardian angel. All that we do at that level is successfully and also precisely realised, and therefore, it is understandable that we consciously wish to attain that level: consequently, it is necessary to progress spiritually. We must activate the unconscious spiritual body and take over the part of the space where the governing ego is operating, i.e. our mind: this process is spiritual progress or growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the physical body and the spiritual body are components of one and the same being, it is understandable that the governing ego will not let us follow our inner self instead. When ego is pushed against the wall, it uses, as its last resort, the fear it provokes in us to mislead us and avert us from following the laws of the spiritual body. Certain therapeutic techniques from the East propose that ego should first be destroyed in order to achieve spiritual development or growth. I believe that this is not necessary and that it is even harmful for our existence, because without ego as a component of our being, we would be left without our own and authentic personality. My experience has shown that in spiritual work ego must in fact only be switched off temporarily. Understandably, it is better to use a conscious switch-on\/switch-off of the ego than to destroy it. We only switch off the ego mentally for a brief time, when we conduct spiritual transformations and establish connections with our inner truth: for everyday needs, we switch it on again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIND (EGO) IS THE MURDERER OF TRUTH LET THE STUDENT KILL THE MURDERER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our ego will not be hurt if we switch it off for a short time; it will also allow the performance of the meditations necessary when we establish a connection with our inner self.
